This time, I’d like to introduce important tips for getting a good score on the “Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU),” which many of you hoping to study in Japan will take.
What kind of exam is the EJU?
The EJU is an examination for international students who wish to enter Japanese universities. It includes subjects such as Japanese, General Subjects (social studies, history, etc.), Mathematics, and Science (physics, chemistry, biology). The required subjects differ depending on the university you wish to enter, so please research carefully and prepare accordingly.
Tips for Improving Your Japanese Score!
The Japanese language test consists of “Reading Comprehension,” “Listening Comprehension,” “Listening-Reading Comprehension,” and “Writing.”
- Reading Comprehension: Practice reading many texts quickly. Even if there are unfamiliar words or you don’t understand every single meaning, it’s important to practice grasping the overall message of the text.
- Listening Comprehension / Listening-Reading Comprehension: Listen to Japanese news and TV programs every day. Shadowing (practicing immediately repeating what you hear) is also very effective. Don’t forget to practice taking notes.
- Writing: Practice clearly expressing your opinions. It’s important to consider the structure and write logically.
Tips for Other Subjects!
- General Subjects: A wide range of knowledge is required, including history, geography, economics, and politics. Read textbooks thoroughly and solve many past exam questions. It’s also important to stay updated on current social affairs by watching the news.
- Mathematics: Thoroughly understanding the basics is most important. Don’t just memorize formulas; practice while thinking about why and when to use each formula.
- Science: You usually choose two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Master the basic knowledge of each subject and repeatedly practice solving problems.

皆さん、こんにちは！Motiview.appの日本語教師です。
今回は、日本に留学したい皆さんが受ける「日本留学試験（EJU）」で、良い点数を取るための大切なポイントを紹介します。
EJUってどんな試験？
EJUは、日本の大学に入りたい外国の学生のための試験です。日本語、総合科目（社会や歴史など）、数学、理科（物理・化学・生物）の科目があります。行きたい大学によって、必要な科目が違いますから、よく調べて準備（じゅんび）しましょう。
日本語の点数を上げるコツ！
日本語の試験は「読解（どっかい）」「聴解（ちょうかい）」「聴読解（ちょうどっかい）」「記述（きじゅつ）」があります。
- 読解： たくさんの文章を早く読む練習をしましょう。知らない言葉があっても、全部（ぜんぶ）の意味が分からなくても、文章全体（ぶんしょうぜんたい）で何が言いたいかを見つける練習が大切です。
- 聴解・聴読解： 日本語のニュースやテレビ番組（ばんぐみ）を毎日聞きましょう。シャドーイング（聞いた音声をすぐにまねして言う練習）もとてもいいですよ。メモを取る練習も忘れずに。
- 記述： 自分の意見（いけん）をはっきり書く練習をしましょう。構成（こうせい）を考えて、論理的（ろんりてき）に書くことが大切です。
その他の科目のコツ！
- 総合科目： 歴史、地理、経済（けいざい）、政治（せいじ）など、広い範囲（はんい）の知識（ちしき）が必要です。教科書をしっかり読み、過去問（かこもん）をたくさん解きましょう。ニュースを見て、今の社会の動きを知るのも大切です。
- 数学： 基本（きほん）をしっかり理解（りかい）することが一番大切です。公式（こうしき）を覚えるだけでなく、どうしてその公式を使うのか、どんな時に使うのかを考えながら練習しましょう。
- 理科： 物理、化学、生物から2科目選ぶことが多いです。それぞれの科目の基本的な知識をしっかり身につけ、問題演習（もんだいえんしゅう）を繰り返しましょう。
全体的な勉強のコツ！
- 過去問をたくさん解く： 過去の試験問題を解くことで、どんな問題が出るか、時間が足りるかどうかが分かります。間違えた問題は、どうして間違えたのかをしっかり確認（かくにん）しましょう。
- 計画を立てる： 毎日少しずつでも勉強する時間を作りましょう。無理のない計画を立てて、毎日続けましょう。
